King County has unveiled a range of contract opportunities and bid notices for various construction projects. Key proposals are available, with submission deadlines approaching in the summer. The projects focus on enhancing community services and encouraging participation from Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises. Various significant projects, such as the NE Auburn Creek Restoration and Five Mile Lake Park Lighting, are highlighted for interested contractors looking to contribute.
King County is set to offer numerous contract opportunities and bid notices for various construction projects throughout 2025. Among these opportunities, important proposals are now open for submission, with deadlines spanning from June through July 2025. The projects aim to improve community services while providing participation pathways for Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women’s Business Enterprises (WBE).
The NE Auburn Creek Restoration Project is one of the highlighted contracts, identified as KC001470. Proposals for Construction Management Services will be accepted until 12:00 PM on July 31, 2025. With an estimated total project price of $490,627, the goal is to develop an Equity and Social Justice (ESJ) Innovation Plan. This plan will focus on maximizing participation from both MBE and WBE firms that are certified by the State of Washington Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises. Another significant contract opportunity is for the Five Mile Lake Park – Main Parking Lot Lighting project, tracked as KC001464. Sealed bids are due by 1:30:59 PM on July 22, 2025, with an estimated contract price of $811,400. This project will require coordination with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) to install a new transformer. Notably, a 15% minimum Apprentice Utilization Requirement applies to this contract, along with a 15% minimum requirement for King County Certified Small Contractors and Suppliers (SCS).
King County is also accepting proposals for various other projects. The Vehicle and Equipment Filters and Related Items contract, labeled KC001424, requires proposals to be submitted by July 11, 2025. In addition, the Engineering Services for CSO Supplemental Compliance and Corrective Action Program has an estimated price of $12,000,000 for its phase one, with proposals due by 12:00 PM on July 3, 2025. For the Geomembrane Installation and Repair Work Order 2025, bids are required by July 2, 2025, incorporating a 3% minimum requirement for SCS.
