LOXAHATCHEE — Boca Raton-based GL Homes announced Tuesday it will begin construction on Cascata Palms, a 2,400-unit master-planned residential community on 1,100 acres in western Palm Beach County, with a projected total development value exceeding $1.4 billion.
The company acquired the Loxahatchee Groves-area site for $87 million in December 2025 after securing approval from Palm Beach County for a mixed-density development plan. The project includes single-family homes ranging from 1,800 to 4,200 square feet, townhomes, and a 200-unit active adult section.
GL Homes President Misha Ezratti said the project represents the company’s largest single-site investment in its 45-year history. The first phase of 400 homes is targeted for delivery starting in early 2028.
“Palm Beach County’s western communities continue to see extraordinary demand,” Ezratti said. “Cascata Palms will offer buyers a complete lifestyle community with resort-style amenities at a price point that reflects what today’s families need.”
Site infrastructure work — including roads, utilities, and drainage — begins in May 2026. GL Homes selected Mastec Contracting for earthwork and Sunshine Infrastructure for underground utilities. Vertical construction contracts have not yet been awarded.
The development plan includes 180 acres of parks, lakes, and conservation areas, plus a 35,000-square-foot amenity campus with pools, fitness facilities, and a demonstration kitchen. A 10-acre commercial node along Southern Boulevard is reserved for neighborhood retail.
Palm Beach County estimates the community will generate $28 million annually in property tax revenue at buildout.
